Stocking Fillers and Secret Santa Gifts for Golfers

Looking for stocking fillers for golfers this Christmas? I’ve been on both sides of the wrapping paper. I’m a golfer myself, and Love Your Laces actually started on a golf course. So I’ve unwrapped my fair share of golf gifts, and spent plenty of time wondering what to buy the golfers in my life.

Here’s my honest take: there aren’t many good golf gifts under £10. Most of what you’ll find at that price is the silly stuff. So here’s what golfers actually get given, what women golfers really want in their stocking, and the Secret Santa gift I’d choose for any golfer.

What golfers get given

Over the years I’ve been given golf balls, tees, gloves, hand warmers, a golf cap, how-to-golf books, funny golf books, a scorecard holder, a pencil, and more woolly hats than I could ever wear.

A few thoughts from the receiving end:

  • Balls, tees and gloves are always handy. Every golfer gets through them.
  • A pencil sounds boring, but I’m forever losing mine.
  • Hand warmers are a treat on a cold winter round.
  • Woolly hats: check first. Most golfers already have loads. I certainly do.

Why colourful shoelaces make a great golf stocking filler

Golf shoes are usually white, which makes them the perfect blank canvas.

I get comments about my laces all the time, from women and men. The women I play with get exactly the same whenever new members join our group. Laces get people talking.

They also give golfers a bit of personality. And if your golfer heads abroad for some winter sun golf, colourful laces just brighten up everyone’s day.

At £6 a pair, or 2 pairs for £10, they’re one of the few golf gifts under £10 that’s fun and useful at the same time.

How to choose laces for a golfer

  • Length: 120cm fits most golf shoes. Not sure? Our shoelace length guide shows you how to check.
  • Colour: pick your favourite design, match their golf bag, or go for something that stands out. Orange laces on white golf shoes are fabulous.
  • Weather: all our laces stand up well to UK rain, and to the washing machine.

Matching laces for golf teams

We’ve had whole teams wearing the same laces to match their polo shirts in competitions. If you’re buying for a team or club, have a look at our team and event gifting page.

Stocking fillers for women golfers

Most golf gift lists seem to be written for men. Here’s what I’d put in a woman golfer’s stocking, and what the women I play with would love too:

  • Lip salve
  • Sunscreen
  • Golf gloves
  • Golf balls
  • Colourful golf laces
  • A matching water bottle
  • Energy bars
  • A bag of sweets

Secret Santa gifts for golfers under £10

If you’ve pulled a golfer’s name out of the hat and your budget is £10, my advice is simple: buy 2 pairs of shoelaces for £10. Or buy them one pair and keep the other for yourself. I won’t tell.

Our laces come in lovely packaging, and we’ll gift wrap them for free too. Just pop a note in the “Order special instructions” box in your basket.
